Paula Green was an American advertising executive. Green is best known for writing the lyrics to the “Look for the Union Label” song for ILGWU, the Avis motto “We Try Harder”, and being one of the pioneers of women in advertising. She was an agency-leading woman in an industry dominated by men. Furthermore, a breast cancer awareness ad campaign devised by Green for the American Cancer Society is credited with saving dozens of lives. It encouraged women to conduct breast self-examinations at a time when regulations made it difficult to even correctly describe the process.
